Brake repairs
The Mercedes 600 is equipped with a hydraulic dual-circuit brake with pneumatic pressure intensifier with brake discs in the front and back. Due to the higher vehicle weight each front wheel brake has 2 brake calipers. The vehicle's calipers were made of light metal alloy up to the serial number 642 and afterwards they were made of cast iron.
By overheating the brake discs (braking sharply or long braking distances) it is possible that the brake discs get warped. This becomes noticable with moderate or strong vibrating of the pedal when braking. By means of a special machine we are able to skim the brake discs. The bearing surface is slightly skimmed, rust is removed and the 100% axial runout is restored. Price upon request.
